I am sure y'all have been waiting with bated breath all weekend staring at your computer hitting the refresh button anticipating news of the garage sale...well wait no further ok.

We went to bed Friday evening with more left to do than I would have liked. This may or may not/DID have a little something to do with Parnell, Wendy, and Chase going to dinner, getting ice cream, and straight chillen instead of organizing the remaining items #iwasatworkpromise. This equated to waking up far too early (5:00am to be exact) in order to get everything ready to go for our valued customers.

Wendy and I opened the garage for business and simultaneously sent Parnell to Chick-Fil-A.  What? We had to gear up for the long day ahead of us ok.

We advertised our hours as beginning at 7:30am.  Silly us...
We had already had our first "rush" if you will by 7:00am.  A Canton antique dealer came in like a bat out of hell and swooped about half of my shabby chic inventory in one truck load, which I must say, I called happening.  BOOM.

Throughout the day, we kept Wendy in charge of all funds.  She is a math teacher and I could use some remedial math classes, so the choice was clear. She started with a cash box and soon switched to an apron to gain some mobility.  I literally did not let her take all.  If someone even looked in my general vicinity like they wanted to check out (you know that face) I tuck and rolled.

A little later into the morning, Erin stopped by bearing gifts of her son and a pumpkin spice latte.  YES PLEASE.  I took a 20 minute break to chat which Parnell later spun into the following sentence:

"Whitney got all CEO on that garage sale and took a two hour break with Erin."

Please look at the picture she sent me later that day:

I die...angel baby...literally.

At the end of the day we sold a solid amount and only had one car full to take to Goodwill...success?? Wendy was also wearing the same shirt as a customer which was AMAZING.

By the time we finally were finished with all clean up it was about 8:00pm...making Saturday the 4th longest day of my life.

I must say I enjoyed my first, last, and only garage sale.

Aaaaaaaand a happy Friday to you...

Allow me to explain to you the current state of the Kahn/Parnell (yes my name first P) household.

We decided several weeks ago to have a garage first ever.  They look so fun when other people have playing store when you were little only with real money and real items.  I mean...we haven't even had the sale yet and I am over it.  THIS my friends has been the state of our sun room for the past week...

Oh and don't worry...this is the dog's room as well.  The first day I left for work, Oliver looked up at me with the b*tch please face...his eyes said "I hate you for leaving me in this junk room with HIM (Khaki)."

What started as our garage sale turned into a full on Kahn/Parnell family cleanse with both parents contributing to the pile. My parents will be in town and have opted to help us at the sale.  My mom volunteered my brother Chase to quote "stand around and sell cold bottled waters to shoppers." I HIGHLY doubt we see him Saturday...

This sale also meant major things for Parnell's dad.  Mike Sr. may or may not/does have a minor hoarding problem.  We were in their garage last weekend making a pick up and counted NINE brooms.  It was like a damn witch convention in there ok. I on the other hand have whatever disease is the opposite of hoarding. I just turned to my #1 internet source (aside from Daily Mail deh) Google, to find the term for me. My search concluded that I suffer from:

Obsessive-Compulsive Spartanism
As the name implies, this decluttering behavior may be obsessive-compulsive.

Try me...leave something on the counter in our house and just SEE if it is there upon your return.

As if this garage sale was not already turning out to be the death of me...we now have a 60% chance of rain Saturday.  I can't...

What birthday party would be complete without an after party (aside from my own)?  We headed over to our favorite super classy local hangout Liquid Zoo following our time with Gemini.  The boys met us and I could tell just how completely jealous they were of the last hour of our lives ok.

"You have a a bar..."

I MAY have gone to Taco Bell on the way home.  WHAT? I had a sweet to me.

Once we arrived at Jenn's house for the second portion of the evening, we had cake and cocktails.  We also played a game to see who knew Emily best.  I was not even close to winning...sorry Em? If it makes you feel better...

At Parnell's sister's bridal shower we played a similar game featuring questions about the bride to be.  One of them was "When did Mike and Megan get engaged?"  The room was silent as Megan announced that I had an unfair advantage and would know the answer seeing as I was engaged only 5 days after.  Or did I? Yes ok...I had NO idea what day I got engaged...NONE.  I came home and immediately told Parnell the story.  He proceeded to get offended and offer some flippant answer to the effect of "oh c'mon it was (insert wrong date here)".  #truelove

See?? So not only do I not know facts about you...I don't know them about myself.  I hope that helps my case.

Oh you don't still separate and take sorority group photos at gatherings? No? That's just us? Are you lying right now?

So this was all fun and games and hugs and pictures until there was a knock at the door...y' Mr. "Gemini" from Lubbock, Texas traveled all the way to Dallas for a repeat performance of the EXACT same routine he performed in 2004 for Emily...YES OK.

I will spare you the rest of the're welcome/my eyes are still burning.

So? How was the weekend? Friday evening, I went to bed around 9:00pm in an effort to kick a week long cold I have had.  I woke up at 9:00am Saturday with...a cold.

I locked it up and rallied in order to celebrate Emily's 30th birthday.  The boys hung around the Kahn/Parnell casa watching football (GO TECH) while the girls participated in a progressive dinner/drinks situation.

Win got extra points for his hat selection.

First up was Sara's house for some tequila (not it) and MiCo sunset fajitas which never hurt anyone.

After dinner we moved on over to Jenn's house...where things got...interesting...
