While I am on a roll sharing works from my talented brother, I thought I would post my anniversary gift to P.  I went the traditional gift route for year one and stuck to "paper".

Ta da:

This sketch was done from one of P's favorite pictures of the late and great Khaki Parnell. It now resides above a shadow box my mom created for his collar.

We are those dog people.

A special thank you to Chase for the drawing and to P for putting up with me for a year.

Can I have a super proud sister moment?

My brother Chase, has been featured on The Huffington Post  for his series of collages (insert shriek here).

I may not understand all five dollar words used in this article (judge away) but that doesn't make me any less excited.

Congratulations Chase!

When it comes to Christmas, P and I slightly differ on our preferred methods and timelines for celebrations. I am team start prepping/planning November 1st and Parnell is team "why can't everyone relax and celebrate Thanksgiving before mentioning Christmas?"  With the recent drop in Dallas temperatures, I have had no choice but to step in and attempt to change Parnell's mind.

Disclaimer: Yes, the tree is up.  Yes, Parnell is less than thrilled about it.

This year, I went with the usual Whitney holiday decor featuring no color....just the way I like it. You be you with your red and green and let me be me.

Ahhhhhh literally the most wonderful time of the year.

You know what else is wonderful?

Chestnut Praline Lattes from Starbucks...slow clap on that creation...making Pumpkin Spice Lattes look like child's play one sip at a time.

Our recent trip to Lubbock coincided with our friend Tanner proposing to his girlfriend Brittany.  This wasn't just any proposal...Tanner popped the question with a Golden Retriever PUPPY.  Talk about a legitimate plan to secure a "yes"...

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Now give me that puppy baby back...

Last weekend, Parnell and I ventured back to our old Texas Tech stomping grounds in Lubbock, Texas.  This city never lets me down...

Although our Red Raiders were not able to pull out a win against OU, we sure had fun trying.

We started our day with a trip to good ole Greek Circle before tailgate because who doesn't love a lodge picture first thing in the morning??

After the game concluded, we, along with every other person at the stadium had a liiiittle trouble reaching an Uber driver. We then made the best decision ever (no seriously) and walked through campus to our next stop.  The mems were INTENSE y'all.

Our weekend was topped off by SNOW Sunday morning on our way out of town!

I love you SO much Lubbock and I can't wait to see you again.

I am not one for cheese that you can't consume so I will leave it at a simple...

 Happy Birthday P!

Last Saturday, Erin and I had a romantic date night in Fort Worth sans husbands for Natalie and Maddox's wedding. MiCocina mambo taxis and all...which ended up being slightly life altering.

Cheers to the Wombles!

First, let me apologize for my absence.  I received a sweet little visit from the food poisoning fairy earlier this week and have not been myself.  I am so over her and McAlister's chicken salad...hindsight...should.have.known.

Moving on...

Halloween the last few years has been ultra low key.  This year, the Platt's and their kitty cat Sloane were so kind to host us for a get together.  Per usual, Sara can't do anything half way so the party was adorable.

I was so sad to see October go...that is until I went to Starbucks the next day and was handed this bad boy:

The only red I appreciate in life (literally my least favorite color) is that of my Texas Tech Red Raiders and Starbucks Christmas cups.  Ahhhhh....
